St. John's offers a variety of organizations, committees and interests within the church, including choirs, classes, and service groups. St. John's is also involved in the community and mission outreach programs.

St. John's hosts the following:

  • Johnson Creek Helping Hands Food Pantry:
    • The Food Pantry is open from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Mondays and Thursdays, except holidays. Emergency food assistance is available for Johnson Creek school district residents, with proof of residency. The Pantry also provides a great volunteer opportunity.
  • Senior Nutrition Program (60+):
    • A hot, nutritious lunch is offered Mondays and Thursdays at 11:00 a.m., and is also a social hour for Johnson Creek residents. A minimal fee is charged (no one is turned away). A monthly Bingo party is held, as well as occasional blood pressure clinics and entertainment.
  • American Red Cross Blood Bank:
    • St. John's is the host site for the Blood Bank. Donors are welcomed to Fellowship Hall during the year!
  • Johnson Creek Area Vacation Bible School:
    • The one-week summer VBS is open to all Johnson Creek area children, ages three to sixth-grade. See photos from previous years - Vacation Bible School

Prayer Group:

In addition to Pastor's prayer list, immediate prayer needs may be sent through the St. John's Prayer Chain. Send your email requests to Lynn Mehringer at hvacres@tds.net . Prayer request cards and a large envelope in which to place them are also located in the narthex.

Everyone Can Serve:

Look for opportunities to serve; don’t wait to be asked!

Remember: You can serve without being a part of an “official” ministry.

We can all…

…extend the word of welcome, whether or not we are official greeters.

…be listening, caring friends, whether or not we are official lay counselors.

…be ready to give reason for the hope that is in us, whether or not we are on the evangelism team.

…be enthusiastic participants and ready to give a hand, whether or not we are on the planning or cleanup committees.
