July & August ~ Ready Kids for
School
With an increase in demand, we deliver school supplies, backpacks, and monetary donations. Remember that you can donate all year long and forward your donation to the Methodist Church in Jefferson.
October ~ Coats for
Kids
Each year we deliver winter coats to the Jefferson VFW (Community Coalition) and they are distributed to Jefferson County residents in need.
November ~ Operation Christmas Child

December ~ Countryside Nursing
Home
Each year, residents are “adopted” and gift items are delivered to the nursing home in time for Christmas.
December ~ Jefferson County Jail
Ministry
In early December, we package dozens of cookies, baked by members, which are frozen and delivered to the jail prior to Christmas. In 2007, we delivered 50 dozen cookies. There was also a brunch in conjunction with Souper Sunday that grossed over $200. Along with $600 from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, we were able to purchase Christmas gifts for 7 children (Angel Tree ministry ~ children of inmates), reimburse for postage of Christmas cards and the remainder of monies towards the GED program at the jail. The gifts were purchased, wrapped and delivered by members of St. John’s! Donations were also gathered of Christmas cards & paperbacks and those were delivered to the jail as well. All of the items were very well received and appreciated!
